Enlisted at Manchester on the 8th of February 1854.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 6'.

Trade: Labourer.

Service

Left the regiment for the General Depot at Scutari on the 21st of September 1854.

The muster roll states, "Believed to have died on board ship during the passage, 22nd of September 1854."

Next of kin: Father, Joseph Young, living in Manchester, Lancs.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for the Alma, but he is not shown on the Sebastopol clasp medal roll.

Commemorations

Death & burial

Believed to have died on board ship between the Crimea and Scutari, 22nd of September 1854.
