Born in York.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Sheffield

Age: 18.

Height: 5 '6".

Trade: Draper.

He was a volunteer from the 2nd West Yorks Militia.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 15th of June 1855.

Transferred to the 2nd Dragoon Guards on the 31st of December 1856. Regimental No. 247.

He is named as "Henry" Wormald on the 2nd Dragoon Guards muster rolls.

From Private to Corporal: 17th of March 1858.

Died at Lucknow on the 31st of May 1858.

Next-of-kin: Mary Wormald, living in Wakefield, Yorkshire.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Lucknow.

The Returned Medal book shows "Mutiny medal sent to the Mint. No trace of issue."

Served at Nusseratpore and Koorsee.

Life after service

Death & burial

Died at Lucknow on the 31st of May 1858.
