Embarked for the Crimea aboard the H.T. "Mary Anne" on the 19th of April 1854. Sent to the Depot at Canterbury when the regiment went to India for the Mutiny campaign 1st of October 1857.
From Private to Corporal: 5th of October 1857.
Corporal to Sergeant: 8th of March 1858.
"Absent without leave", 30th-31st ofMarch 1858. Confined, 1st-4th of April, and "reduced to the rank and pay of a Private Hussar" by a District Court-martial on the 5th of April 1858.
Discharged from Chatham Invalid Depot on the 27th of April 1862, as:
"Unfit for further service. Suffers from Vaux and Chronic Rheumatism and is therefore recommended for discharge from the service.
The result of climatic and military service and not aggravated by vice or mis-conduct."

In possession of three Good Conduct badges.
