Born at Stockport.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Liverpool on the 18th of February 1855.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 6".

Trade: Joiner.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

From Private to Corporal: 1st of October 1857.

Corporal to Sergeant: 4th of April 1860.

Confined, 6-12 of July, tried by a Regimental Court-martial on the 13th of July 1865 and reduced to Pte.

Discharge & pension

Discharged, "by purchase", from Edinburgh on the 11th of September 1865. Payment of £10.

Served 10 years 203 days.

Conduct: "good".

In possession of one Good Conduct badge.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
