Birth & early life

Born at Lincoln.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Westminster on the 14th of September 1852.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Farrier.

He was batman to the Brigade Major at Scutari from September of 1855 to January 1856.

Sent to England, via Scutari, to join the Depot at Newbridge, Ireland, on the 25th of April 1856.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol,

Death & burial

Died at Hounslow on the 9th of January 1858.

He was buried in the churchyard of St Leonard's at Heston, Middlesex, on the 11th of January 1858. Although the approximate site of his grave is known, no headstone can be found. (See photograph of the churchyard in the 11th Hussar file.)
