Born in Cheltenham c.1821.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Cheltenham on the 11th of April 1841.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Hatter.

Service

Sent to Scutari on the 12th of October 1854 and died there on the 2nd of January 1855.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Inkerman and Sebastopol.

The name "Private Henry Turner 8th Hussars" appears on the Crimean War memorial outside the Queen's Hotel in Cheltenham. (There is another photograph in the 17th Lancer file.)

Death & burial

Sent to Scutari on the 12th of October 1854 and died there on the 2nd of January 1855.
