Enlistment

Enlisted at Canterbury on the 18th of January 1854.

Age: 25.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Brick-layer.

Killed in action at Balaclava,

Next of kin: Father, George Tomsett, living at Lewes, Sussex.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol.

A Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol and with impressed naming to "T. Thomsett. 4th Dragoons." and an unnamed Turkish Crimean medal were offered in a Hayward's list for July of 1968. These medals were known to be in an English collection in 1975.
