Born in London.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Hounslow on the 16th of October 1849.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Servant.

Service

1851 Census

Pockthorpe Cavalry Barracks

John Richardson, aged 21, unmarried, Soldier, Private, born London, Middlesex.

Sent to Scutari (no date shown) but he was at the General Depot there from the 14th of September and sent to rejoin the regiment on the 3rd of October [PB: presumably 1854?].

Sent back to Scutari on the 20th of January 1855.

Death & burial

Died at Scutari on the 9th of February 1855.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Inkerman and Sebastopol.

The Balaclava period muster roll states, "in Hospital".
