Birth & early life

Enlistment

William Pemberton originally enlisted on the 4th of September 1851 at Westminster, but still being "an apprentice," was "given up" on the 26th of September 1851.

He rejoined the regiment on the 15th of March 1854, "having completed his apprenticeship."

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: None shown.

Service

Sent to the Cavalry Depot on the 19th of April 1854.

Rejoined the regiment in the Crimea on the 14th of July 1855.

The muster roll states, "No details known. Small book lost."

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Lummis and Wynn state "he did not serve in the Crimea", but his name is to be found on the Sebastopol clasp roll. They also only show him as "Isaac" Pemberton.

Life after service

Death & burial

Died "in Camp" in the Crimea on the 14th of October 1855.
