Enlisted at London on the 24th of May 1854.

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

Transferred to the 2nd Dragoon Guards at Dublin on the 31st of December 1856. Regimental No. 267.

Embarked for India aboard the "Blenheim" on the 27th of November 1857.

From Private to Corporal: 16th of July 1859.

Corporal to Sergeant: 1st of December 1861.

Served also at Newabgungee.

Discharge & pension

Discharged "by purchase" at Benares, India (Payment of £10) on the 1st of July 1864. No other details are shown and there is no indication if he remained in India or returned to England.

Served 8 years 236 days.

Conduct and character: "very good."

In possession of two Good Conduct badges.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.

Mutiny medal with clasp for Lucknow.
