Birth & early life

Born in Worcester.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Edinburgh on the 16th of January 1844.

Age: 20.

Height: 5' 10".

Trade: Jeweller.

Service

Tried by a District Court-martial at Canterbury on the 8th of May 1852 for "being drunk, and absent," Sentenced to 168 days' imprisonment, with hard labour."

Rode with No. 4 Troop (T.S.M. O'Hara.) (See copy of the Troop muster roll in the 17th Lancer "Scrapbook."

Killed in action at Balaclava, 25th October 1854.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava and Sebastopol.

Death & burial

Killed in action at Balaclava.

Next of kin: his Father, John Pearce, living in Worcester.
