1627, Benjamin POLLARD — 11th Hussars

Birth & early life

Born at Sawbridge, near Nottingham.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 29th of December 1853.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Shoe-maker.

Was tried by a Regimental Court-martial on the 4th of November 1854 for "being asleep on his post." Given 50 lashes.

Died in the Crimea "of Gelatis, " on the 20th of January 1855.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.
