Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 27th of January 1855.

Age: 22.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Saddler.

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 25th of May 1855.

Tried by a Regimental Court-martial on the 29th of November 1855 for "being drunk and losing by night one animal pack-saddle and ration-bags." Awarded 42 days imprisonment, with hard labour.

"Deserted" from Canterbury on the 1st of January 1857.

Next of kin: Sister, Mary Ann Parnham, living in Manchester.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Life after service

Can find no further trace to 1879.
