Born at Bristol, c.1822.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Gloucester on the 8th of December 1843.

Age: 21.

Height: 5' 9".

Trade: Joiner.

Died "in the Crimea," on the 25th of March 1855.

Next of kin: Brother, Simon Jones, living in Carmarthen, Wales.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Death & burial

A memorial of either wood or stone was erected to him in the 13th Light Dragoon Cemetery on the road between Kadikoi and Karani, and in 1856 bore the inscription: "To the memory of I.B. Jones, IV L.D., who died 25th of March 1855."
