Birth & early life

Born in Sussex.

Enlistment

Enlisted at London on the 2nd of July 1847 as "James" Gammon.

Age: 19.

Height: 5' 8".

Trade: Farrier.

Service

Died, of "Diarrhoea", at the Veterinary Depot, Balaclava, on the 13th of December 1854. No record of any "next of kin".

He is named as "Samuel Gammon" in the muster rolls at the time of his death, and also as such on the medal rolls.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Alma, Balaclava, Inkerman and Sebastopol.

Death & burial

Died of "Diarrhoea" at the Veterinary Depot, Balaclava, on the 13th of December 1854. No record of any "next of kin".
