Birth & early life

Born c.1823.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Dublin "by Special Authority" [his relatively old age, perhaps?] on the 20th of March 1853.

Age: 30.

Height: 5' 9".

Trade: Shoemaker.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 20th of June 1855.

At Scutari from the 1st of November 1855 to the 11th of May 1856.

Master Boot-maker in the Regiment from the 1st of July 1856.

Sent to the Depot at Canterbury when the regiment left for India on 1st of October 1857.

Discharge & pension

No trace of his discharge can be found, the muster rolls for the Depot of the 17th Lancers being missing from his last recorded entry in March of 1860.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.
