Joined the regiment on the Crimea on the 25th of May 1855.

Discharged in consequence of the "Reduction of the Regiment and not likely to become efficient" from Brighton on the 24th of November 1856.

Served 2 years 49 days.

Conduct and character: "good". Not in possession of any Good Conduct badges.

He is shown as "James John Daw" on discharge.

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol.
