Birth & early life

Born at Wakefield, Yorkshire, c.1837.

Enlistment

Enlisted at Dublin on the 6th of February 1855.

Age: 18.

Height: 5' 7".

Trade: Compositor.

Service

Joined the regiment in the Crimea from Cork on the 16th of July 1855.

Embarked for India from Cork aboard the S.S. "Great Britain" on the 8th of October 1857.

The musters for July-September of 1858 show him as being "Sick at Arungabad' in September and no particular service movement during the whole of this period.

Medals

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol, and the Turkish medal.

Can find no trace on the Mutiny medal roll.

Commemorations

Death & burial

Died at Morar, India, on the 18th of December 1858.

Next of kin: Father, living in Wakefield, Yorkshire.
