In action against the rebels at Zeerapore on the 29th of December 1858 and at Baroda on the 1st of January 1859.
The India Office records show him as marrying Ellen Henderson, a widow, at Secunderbad on the 10th of April 1861. Their ages were shown as 26 and 28 respectively. His father was shown as Matthew Dixon and hers as Joseph Lee. The ceremony was conducted by the Revd. Pigot James.

Discharged from Canterbury Depot on the 17th of February 1866.
