Born at Rochester, Kent.

Enlistment

Enlisted into the 15th Hussars at Maidstone on the 7th of April 1851. Regtl. No. 2068.

No other enlistment details apart from his trade as a servant are shown.

Service, discharge & pension

Transferred to the 13th Hussars on the 1st of July 1854.

From Private to Corporal, 2nd of September 1854.

Joined the regiment in the Crimea on the 1st of August 1855.

Reduced to Private by a Regimental Court-martial on the 2nd of January 1856.

Discharged, "time expired", from Hounslow on the 9th of September 1864.

Conduct: "good". In possession of two G.C badges.

Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasp for Sebastopol and the Turkish medal.

Not recorded by Lummis and Wynn.
