Birth & early life


Enlistment

Enlisted at Hounslow on the 3 1st of January 1854.

Age: 18.

Height: 5’ 8”.

Trade: None shown.


Service, discharge & pension

At Scutari General Depot from the 14th of September 1854 and sent to rejoin the regiment on the 3rd of October.

Sent money from the Crimea to his sister, Sarah Oldfield, “At the 13th Light Dragoons Depot, Brighton,” in 1854.

Sent to Scutari again on the 2nd of January 1855 and died “in the General Hospital” at Scutari on the 3rd of March 1855.


Medals & commemorations

Entitled to the Crimean medal with clasps for Inkerman and Sebastopol.
